General - Foundation
The Venezuelan Animal Foundation was founded in 1996 on International Animal Day, when our chairperson returned from a vacation on Island Margarita in Venezuela. He was confronted there with tremendous animal suffering and cruelty towards animals. Since that day, the foundation has come a long way. Together with the airline company Martinair, we’ve made a special air bridge between Holland and Venezuela for the transport of relief goods and medical supplies. Since 1996, our animal shelter, the second animal shelter in whole Venezuela, became a reality in South America.

Various TV shows have filmed our work, giving people the opportunity to see the sad situation of the homeless animals living on the streets of Venezuela. Viewers could also see what was accomplished in only one year of dedicated work.
